The starting point for the bio-economy platform was a fertilizer platform that brought together companies active at different stages of the value chain of fertilizer production and sales. However, for a long time, the fertilizer platform began to include companies with different business profiles, such as service wash, production of preparations containing combinations of live cultures of bacteria or plant breeding. Therefore, we decided to expand the scope of this platform and renamed it to the bio-economy platform.
If your company is a part of the broader bio-economy trend – we encourage you to cooperate with our cluster!
Companies producing fertilizers in the bio-economy platform
Trends point to the growing demand for fertilizers (potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen) for agriculture, which must be provided by the growing population in the world. The high capital intensity of fertilizer production and the need for access to raw materials near production plants (logistic costs) make fertilizer production concentrated. Development topics concern fertilizers with enhanced functionality and biocomponent-based fertilizers.
Members of our cluster are companies active at different stages of the value chain of fertilizer production and sales. For them, the cluster provides an appropriate platform for exchanging experiences, analyzing market trends and developing new products that meet market expectations. Research projects will focus on the alternative use of identified fractions emerging at different stages of fertilizer production in chemical processes.
